World trip › China: Beijing & Xi'an
China, Beijing 5 (pub, lounge)
October 18, 2010: In the evening we went to a Couchsurfing meetup in a trendy bar. Lots of non-Chinese, nice people to meet and live music. I asked Charles, a businessman from Singapore who lives and works in Beijing, where to get the best view of Beijing. He didn’t have to think twice and told me about a bar in Beijing’s tallest building, in the Guomao area (Guomao is the Chinese abbreviation for China World Trade Center…). No sooner said than done. We grabbed a taxi and headed over.
Once up on the 80th floor, I took in the view first.
The atmosphere in this bar was wonderfully relaxed.
I took my time sipping freshly squeezed juices, met a few people and had interesting conversations until late into the night. And once again: Beijing, you’re a great city! :D
